Events are being held in Washington, D.C., from June 11 to 15, 2018, organising body says

Atlanta, Georgia, United States, 12 June 2018: ASHRAE is highlighting the important role the built environment plays in providing healthy, safe, productive, and efficient spaces for working and living during High Performance Building Week, in Washington, D.C., from June 11 to 15, 2018, the organisation said in a Press communiqué.

According to ASHRAE, High Performance Building Week was created by a coalition comprising approximately 200 organisations to inform policymakers of the impact high performance buildings have on communities.

A week-long series of scheduled events will support the development of innovative policies and legislation to improve resiliency, workforce development, energy and water efficiency, the communiqué said. Success stories of organisations, industries and individuals committed to achieving high performance buildings will be highlighted during the week, the communiqué further said.

Bjarne W. Olesen, President, ASHRAE, said: “The building industry clearly recognises how energy availability, cost and environmental impact is driving change in the way we design, construct and operate buildings. The discussions taking place during High Performance Building Week will ultimately lead to the development of more sustainable infrastructure and innovations that will improve the quality of our lives and produce a more sustainable world for future generations.”
