MENA one of the fastest growing regions in the world, says Evonik

Company says Q1 opening of coatings lab in Turkey aims to bring technical know-how and testing facilities closer to regional customers

Evonik Middle East and North Africa (MENA) has shared its commitment towards reinforcing its position in the region, with Michael Wring, its President, saying that the company considers MENA to be one of the fastest growing regions in the world. “Evonik saw its potential around 45 years ago, when the company started working in the region,” he said. “Today, Evonik MENA has six regional offices and a joint-venture production plant in Saudi’s eastern province with regional headquarters in the United Arab Emirates.”

Wring emphasised that profitable growth and sustained value creation form the heart of the company’s strategy. “Around 80% of sales come from leading market positions,” he said, “which we plan to expand further. We concentrate on high-growth megatrends, such as health and nutrition.”

In line with this, Evonik believes that the Q1 opening of its new coatings laboratory in Turkey will help strengthen the company’s presence. Wring commented, “The coatings lab in Turkey brings the technical know-how and testing facilities closer to our regional customers, making it easier to transfer knowledge and share our latest technologies.” He expressed his firm belief that building such facilities in the region will work to enhance the value offered to relevant stakeholders.
