Dubai, UAE: Dr Essam Elsarrag of Qatar-headquartered Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD-GSAS) spoke at the 4th Annual Middle East Variable Refrigerant Flow Conference, which began on Monday in Dubai, UAE. Elsarrag said that GORD is directly engaged with Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which is responsible for organising the 2022 FIFA World Cup, for advising the Committee on sustainable development-related aspects.

In preparing for the World Cup, GORD is taking a sophisticated approach to understanding the energy demand. “We have conducted a number of studies on climate change and made predictions,” Elsarrag said. “We have taken a blended weather file, which takes into account the climate change, which VRF manufacturers can use.”
