A senior delegation from Empower will attend the ASHRAE Winter Conference in New York, being held from January 18 to 22. Announcing this in an official communiqué, Empower said that the delegation will meet with William P Bahnfleth, President of ASHRAE.

The delegation is also expected to share its experience in operating district cooling plants in tall buildings, the main focus of this year’s conference, which will focus particularly on new and innovative international design strategies for meeting environmental, geographical and cultural standards in the design, development and operation of skyscrapers, said Empower.

Empower will also reportedly highlight its own award-winning technological innovations for its use of Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) to minimise potable water for cooling.

The conference is the first after ASHRAE published its Design Manual for District Heating and Cooling, the first research project of its kind to be sponsored by a district cooling company, Empower pointed out, and added that the manual has helped to standardise the design of district cooling plants and chilled water networks globally.

Underscoring this, Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO, Empower, said: “Empower has a strong relationship with ASHRAE, especially since our recent sponsorship of its District Cooling and Heating Design Manual. We are extremely proud to be associated with such a prominent industry body and delighted that our collaboration will ensure the Middle East remains at the forefront of technological advancements and innovation.”
