ABU DHABI, UAE, 3 September 2019: The Global Energy Association will hold a session, titled ‘Mission possible: The Global Energy Prize as a driver for sustainable energy for all’, during the World Energy Congress, from September 9 to 12 in Abu Dhabi, the Association said through a Press release. Participants in the session – specifically to be held on September 10 – will outline key energy solutions towards achieving sustainable reality; consider the best innovative technologies aimed at improving energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy sources and clean technologies in traditional energy; and evaluate the amount of financial resources needed for an energy transition, the release added. The participants will also present examples of global energy cooperation in the fight against environmental problems, analyse the policies of countries that are successful in implementing the sustainable development strategy and, in contrast, of those whose actions lead to the strengthening of global climate problems, the release further added.

“The new technological cycle requires novel integrated solutions,” said Alexander Ignatov, Head, Global Energy Association. “In our opinion, the sustainable energy strategy meets the main global challenges facing the world community, today. However, for its implementation, in addition to the initiative, political concessions on the part of the world’s leading countries and a radical revision of approaches to energy consumption are needed, as well as a guideline on the rational consumption of resources. I am sure that the experts of our session will not only point out the pressure points of the global energy landscape but also recommend a set of measures that will lead to economic prosperity, a high level of social welfare and an increase in the quality of life.”

The session will take place between 11am and Noon at Capital Suite 5, the release said, adding that besides holding the session, the Association will delegate its experts to participate in key sessions of the Congress programme, host a stand and organise a special energy quiz.
